Ok, so its been four days since I put ammonia in my new tank. The ammonia has been 5 ppm since then and I was wondering when will the bacteria start showing up? Is there anything that will fasten the appearance of the bacteria so they can start colonizing? I dechlorinated my water well (I actually put more dechlorinated conditioner than i was supposed to do which i researched was fine). The tank is 35 gallons and I have a filter than can do up to 50 gallons. My heater is set to 85 degrees F.

Flat & Folliculitis or possibly acne...HELP!?

First and foremost, I have folliculitis on my rear..At least that's what I think it is. They show up all the time and rarely ever go away. I like physics. I really like physics. I think I'd enjoy working as a physicist more than I'd enjoy working as anything else. What does this dream have to do with me?

My family and me were driving down some highway in what seemed to be northern Minnesota. I guess we were trying to go to a cabin or a resort or something.... We turned off of the highway into the forest and started driving down a gravel path. We drove a ways into the forest until we got to a dead end sign blocking the road. My dad stared to back up the car and then all of a sudden a SUV pulled up behind us and stopped there. The road was only one lane so my dad pulled off the road in order to maneuver them. They started driving towards us but missed. As we ped them I noticed that the penger and driver of the SUV appeared to be scary ghost like figures. We got all the way out of the forest and then it was day time. We were about to get back onto the highway when the SUV pulled up next to us. take it back again, sounds like a software fault, not a battery fault. Could be the batter terminal too, im still guessing software. Make them send it in for repair. they will treinstall the software. Mum still coughing up blood AFTER cancer?

My mum had lung cancer and went through the whole chemotherapy and radiotherapy, but has been clear of cancer in 2007... recently about 4 Months ago she was diagnosed with cancer, she had to get her whole removed and she is now again been clear of all cancers, confirmed by her her specialist through her cat scan a couple of weeks ago. She has been coughing and coughing severely, but she is only coughing at night, mainly when she is laying down and it's wearing her down, she has been out of hospital for 4 weeks from her operation, and because she coughs her side has swollen up and is painful for her.... Her coughing started from about June when she was diagnosed with pneumonia and she has been coughing ever since, but her coughing up blood has only started since her operation

So, I recently purchased aluminum foil that was made from recycled aluminum. Unfortunately, it's very thin and tears very easily. Nonetheless, I am trying to reuse it when I can. However, the standard aluminum foil (like Reynolds) is much thicker and offers an industrial strength foil that I am sure would withstand many, many uses. So, which is better? Why is it Biblically wrong to have premarital ?

I'm a little confused as to why this is a sin. I don't agree with being promiscuous or unsafe, as this leads to diseases and unplanned pregnancies, but it's a little unclear to me as to why it is a sin to engage in premarital with an exclusive, long-term partner. From what I understand, when the Bible was written, people were married in their early teens and were married to someone they hardly knew (I could be wrong). In this case, it is not such a struggle to abstain from until marriage. But these days it would be considered stupid and naive to marry so young, and most would say it's a good idea to get to know the person for a few years before making the decision to marry. So is this a sin just because the Bible says it's a sin, or is there some logical reasoning to back this commandment up?

Should I just let my brother make the same mistakes?

My brother is a hopeless-romantic which explains why he's thousands in debt thanks to his ex. He is not your average hopeless romantic, he is the kind that will devote all his time and money cutting off friends, family, & putting only her first. Of course now he has a new gf to tend to, although I love her and agree that she is very sweet. I"m watching him do it all over again. I'm worried because 1st he is my brother and 2nd his "obsession" has caused me financial loss before due to bailing him out of situations. Which brings me back to my question, Should I just let my brother make the same mistakes? Or should I keep intervening? I don't want that guilt-ridden feeling for not helping him if something bad were to happen but then again a lesson needs to be learned on his part. What should I do?

Craving mission and love church life but...?

I have so many questions, uncertainties, and theories to be convinced of anything. There are so many religions out there. I do go to a Christian church and can absolutely feel the unconditional love there and am constantly involved in mission projects. I don't know what I'm missing or what I believe. I don't pray anymore, I don't know when I stopped. What happened? I do not feel wrong, just a little overwhelmed at the pion and pull I feel towards an unstoppable force I would like to think is God. Delivery room woes!?

I am almost 23 wks preg., and was thinking about who I want in the delivery room. Well, I talked with my mom even earlier in my preg, & she told me how she would be there. I was psyched! Yesterday, I was talking with my husband & we said how nice it would be to have both grandma's in the room. So, he called his mom & asked her, she was ecstatic! She was so excited that she wanted to call my mom and talk about how exciting it was. My mom then called me and told me how nice it was to invite my mother-in-law & then said she was so happy that my mother-in-law would be able to go because she probably wasn't going to be able to make it. I said, "What? You have to be there?" She told me how she would love to but probably wouldn't. I was so upset and still am. Everyone is about the same distance away from the hospital including my husband, 2-3 hours. It's my hormones, but I am sad that I have to theoretically prepare for no one to be there.

I have a wonderfully bright 4 year old, smart beyond her years. Lately I have noticed I am yelling more that getting my point across when it comes to discipline. Her father and I have been separated since she was 1. With our week to week visitation she has 2 houses with 2 sets of rules. Her father has a different approach when it comes to discipline. I don't believe in hitting a child to get them to listen(as he does) so I find myself constantly yelling to get her to do what she needs to or even to get her to eat dinner. Our landlord has not fixed the heat after 4 months of the heat not working properly. I?

She sends a tech out after we have called and emailed her for no less than a week. The tech "patches" the problem, leaves and the heat goes out within a few hours again. This last time, she has taken 16 days to send someone out. She brought 2 small electric heaters for a 2260 sq ft house. Can someone help with my moped its not accelerating properly?

when i try to accelerate on the moped it decides not to do it properly and makes a sort of chugging sound, you cant just twist the handle bar you have to constantly keep twisting it back and forth to gain any speed, ive cleaned the fuel filter and the air filter, could it be something to do with the carburetor and will i need to clean it, if so soule someone send me a link to a website where it explains how to do it. Stomach upset and diarrhea!?

Hi first off please don't tell me to go to the doctor as I do seem to be getting better and I can't afford it right now. It started this tuesday around lunchtime I started feeling ill not puking just stomach gurgling and loose stool i ate lunch a little bit of candy and some cookies.....well that night it got worse i started getting muscle aches and felt feverish I took a tylenol and got sick a bit afterwards...the next day i had awful muscle aches vomiting and diarrhea...after that the next day i just had a mild headache no vomitting and some stomach cramps I kept down a soft pretzel.....and yesturday i felt somewhat better no headache or muscle aches just stomach gurgling and felt weak and the diarrhea....sooo my stupid self decided it was halloween and i wanted to have fun so i had two beers and some spicy food ugh well that night i suare i used the bathroom 20 times to the point to where it got very irritated down there :( i was up all night it was watery and still today I have used it 3 times already......IS the diarrhea sticking around because of my food and beer last night or is this something serious that I should worry about....I have taken some pepto and ate a yougrt this morning and a baked potato for lunch to stay on the safe side.....any thoughts or reuring would be appreciated thanks everyone

Sick Puppy ...Pls help urgent....?

I found a puppy lying unconscious on the road getting totally drenched in the rain. he had a wound on his back and maggots were feeding on it.I covered him in a blanket and took him to the doc. The doc said he cant be left outside coz hes too weak and needs intensive care indoors. She gave him a shot and applied some liquid medicine on the wound. She said the maggots will die and start falling out which u need to keep cleaning. The doc suggested that any place like ur garage where it wud be dry and warm wud be good enough coz at home we already had a pug and the stray pup had ticks and lies.Nonetheless we decided to take him home. We used a hair dryer on low speed and low heat to warm him and covered him in a thick blanket.He was dead cold. Slowly, in a couple of hours his body regained body temp. He responds when we touch him by moving his head away or yawning and stretching his hands and feet. when we touch his face we can see that he moves his eye lids. However, he does not seem to be opening his eyes.Seems to be in a deep slumber. the following morning my mum fed him some milk. He wud not drink on his own coz as i said he seems to be in a very deep sleep. So my mum used a filler and carefully put few drops in his mouth. He was gulping it down in his sleep. We had to give him the medication that the doc had prescribed. MAX KIDTAB and BETNESOL. supposedly the former was for the maggot wound and the latter for energy. After the milk he pissed and also pooped though he did all this in his sleep just like a human baby does. Is this a good sigh of recovery? What are the chances of his survival. how long will it take. Do u think hes showing signs of Distemper or is just the maggot wound and the consequent infection thats making him sick? PLEAS PLEASE PLEASE REPLY...

he learned to be compionate towards people rather than himself and only the elite who support him. First trimester bleeding at 11 weeks(or 7 weeks?) help!!?

Im asking this question for my girlfriend. We had already went to her first appointment and had made another on may 14th for the ultrasound, we were told that she was 11 weeks now since her last period was on valentines day... but after going to the ER today they say from the size of the sack that we are only 7 weeks. She had been bleeding yesterday on and off and it happened again thismorning so we went to the ER to get checked out, they ended up doing the sonogram to see the sack, and then measured it, since we couldnt see anything but a black circle. From that measurement, she said we were only 7 weeks.The doctor then said that we need to go in for blood tests in 48 hours to see if the hormone level increased to see if she still has the baby and its just too early. Basically they said we are either too early or there was a miscarriage... we are very scared and dont know how to feel about the situation. Does this sound possible to only be 7 weeks now? She has a baby belly...help?

My niece was very sick as a baby and had several strokes because of this. This has impaired her ability to walk. She is having another surgery that will further delay her therapy because of recovery time. So, she will have to remain in chair. It takes the whole family to care for her and supply her needs. We are almost financially and emotionally depleted. In the area we live in if you don't get a fancy lawyer to advocate you miss out on alot of things like modifications for transportation. I've gone to every agency in the area that I know of. The most they have to offer is a wheelchair ramp. This is no good for a power chair. The vehicle has to be completely modified. How do I find out if my son has allergies or what is causing his congestion? 12 weeks old.?

My son has had congestion since we pretty much brought him home from the hospital. I do the saline drops everyday, several times a day. I use a humidifier, air purifier and the Vicks vapor heating pads, that put the smell into the air and he breathes it in and I have taken him in the bathroom while giving him a bath in his baby bathtub and turned the shower on scolding hot and steamed up the room hoping that would help. He snores really loud when he is sleeping and some nights it keeps me and my husband awake. I have a question about my 17 month old son.?

My son since he was a baby had a problem breathing out of his nose. I use the saline and the suction but that is not good for him to have that done everyday...right. I want to know what is wrong with my son. I asked teh pediatrician and he said give him claritin and that didn't work, so I went back and he said to give him anti biotics. I thought that was CRAZY because he does not have an infection. Then I told the pediatrician that I do not want to give my son antibiotics and he looked at me like I was crazy. okay so as of today i am 35 weeks pregnant with twin boys. Baby A is head down (Isaiah) and baby B is breech (Gabriel). well on the 26th i have a doctors appointment and i wanted to know going in if i have any chances of delivering my boys lly. I have a John Deere z445 mower. It's only 2 years old. It won't start. They replaced the battery and starter solenoid a couple of days ago. It started today, ran for 10 seconds and stalled. After trying starting fluid, it started and ran for 5 seconds and stalled. The battery is good 12.3v, but when I turn the key to start, it stays at 12.3 v and just give and "click" noise (like it's not actually starting). It's in park and the mower deck is not engaged. Can anyone tell me how to figure out the valence electrons for the transition elements? I know Group 1 has 1 valence electron and Group 2 has 2 and so on but I don't know about the middle section of the Periodic Table. For example, I'm trying to figure out how to combine Fe and Cl but I'm unsure how to do that without knowing the valence electrons for Fe.

There should be a serial number stamped on the bottom of the bottom bracket. The serial number usually contains the month and year built. Not sure why this matters as these bikes all together are worth <$100.

Some people can cause electrical disturbances when they are near electrical devices. What causes that?

I wonder if there are people like me who cause electrical disturbances when near appliances? When I go walking, when I p by streetlights they either go out or flicker until I am well by them. When I turn on many electrical devices I get zapped for no apparent reason, not life threatening just enough to make my hand tingle quite a bit. I cannot wear watches because they don't keep time for more than a week. Often when I touch someone, they get a real big shock that really frightens them. People are hesitant to hug or touch me, and my dog gets zapped all the time when I pet her especially around her nose area. Is there a known cause for this or a solution to make this stop? It drives me nuts, and costs me money replacing appliances all the time because they don't last long with me using them...... If anyone knows more about this I would love to hear about any theory or cure.

Feeling bad but still really mad...boyfriend question?

I've been hurt and angry with my boyfriend now for a couple days...I was with him last night just fine but still feel hurt and angry...I can't really talk to him because he's HORRIBLE at communication and going below the surface so it would just go nowhere! Inflamed kidneys at 19 week sonogram?

I am 19 weeks today, and had a sonogram yesterday. My doc said that my sons kindneys are larger than they would like them to be, but its sometimes common, especially in boys and not to worry but asked me back for a sonogram next month. I wouldnt normally fret but I went thru a trauma at around 5 weeks, my fiance and I were mugged and I was shot in the back. Any moms told the same thing about the kidneys? Any RNs know the likelyhood of the trauma effecting organ development.(It was a "clean shot" no surgery and no damage to internal organs, only two broken vertebrae).

Honestly I'm not even sure anymore whether I'm a good or bad person. I think I'm a good person and people generally say I'm a nice person but when it comes to my family all I get are negative comments. Since I was little they'd always pick on me or say mean things and even now I'm seen as the bad child or the child that's troublesome and whenever I hear my parents say something like that they don't trust me or say mean things like calling me stupid and dumb in my mind I just think what kind of a parent tells that to their child? It's had a huge emotional toll on me and now it's just like am I really a bad person as they say? I remember when I was little and we'd all have fun together and I miss those days. My dad is the one that this whole emotional thing revolves around mainly because he's the one that tells me all these mean things and it's just heartbreaking because I used to love him so much when I was a kid and It makes me feel like I really am a bad person and that I deserve all this, and not once have I heard him say sorry. If humanity had 1 year to prepare, do you think that we would be able to send enough people out to places like the moon or mars, to keep the species going. You would need roughly 250 breeding pairs (500 people in total). It would be the top priority of governments around the world. I feel that under these extreme conditions, humanity would be able to utilize already known technology like submarines to be able to make a self-sustaining colony, that would be able to grow and later colonize other places.
