If a guy replies all your emails even the ones you don't expect him to do so is a sign he's interested or what

Like if you send jokes or anything you send like threads, but he always replies. I mean sometimes I send emails to many friends but not always receive replies but he always does. Do you think he considered you a vey good friend or is he interested in you in some kind other way? I don't want to ask him to look needy!
