Took carbs apart and cleaned. Is there a special way to put the carburetors back on a cb 550 supersport.?

I have the gas tank off the bike. We pulled the carbs and it was not easy to take them off. Now we're ready to put them back on and wanted to know if there is a trick to reattaching them. Do you attach to engine side first, clamp it down. Then attach it to the airbox?
