Inflamed kidneys at 19 week sonogram?

I am 19 weeks today, and had a sonogram yesterday. My doc said that my sons kindneys are larger than they would like them to be, but its sometimes common, especially in boys and not to worry but asked me back for a sonogram next month. I wouldnt normally fret but I went thru a trauma at around 5 weeks, my fiance and I were mugged and I was shot in the back. Any moms told the same thing about the kidneys? Any RNs know the likelyhood of the trauma effecting organ development.(It was a "clean shot" no surgery and no damage to internal organs, only two broken vertebrae).
