Girls who were ugly ducklings or who feel they are not attarctive, were boys mean to you because they thought?

you were ugly? l remember back when l was really hideous, guys were repulsed by me, they would edge away from me, saying they would rather die than date me, take their time walking in the hallways so they dont see me after cl, make fun of me and other nasty things. now that l have grown and look okay they are not as mean. but lm still very hurt its amazing how cruel the world can be when your ugly regardless of personalty. Were you also treated the same? did you get over it eventually?
